Light infantry officer's sword, Royal Montgomery Light Infantry Regiment, 1800 (c)

The light curved blade of this sword was more practical for close combat than the heavier straight blade of the 1796 infantry sword. It was found to be particularly effective for the skirmishing tactics of the more mobile light infantry.
