Mounted drivers of the 4th Battery, 1st South Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force), Berrow, Somerset, 1911

This group comprises the drivers for the guns of the battery. The battery's horse teams would pull guns, ammunition limbers and other wagons which equipped the battery. The men in the photograph wear service dress. The horses are fitted with draught harness, to which the guns would be attached. Berrow was used for camps and exercises for the Gloucestershire Royal Field Artillery.
