Photograph, India, 1921.
The British introduced sports like football and cricket to India where they were taken up with great enthusiasm by Indian soldiers. In this image, Indian and British members of the regimental football team pose with a trophy won in one of the many inter-regimental competitions played in military cantonments in India.
From an album of 207 photographs compiled by B R Moberly, 52nd Sikhs (Frontier Force), 1901-1925 (c).
