Sten Mk IIS 9 mm silenced sub-machine gun, 1942 (c)
This Sten, of the type issued to British Special Forces 1942-1955, was produced with an integral silencer rather than having a silencer screwed to the end of the barrel. The drawback was that only single shots could be fired except in an emergency, as automatic fire destroyed the silencing system.
