L1A1X8 E1 Model 7.62 mm Self-Loading Rifle
The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle first entered British Army service in 1954 and remained in use until 1985 when it began to be replaced by the L85A1 assault rifle (or SA80). The L1A1 was the British Army's main rifle during the Falklands War of 1982. It was very similar to the FN FAL that the Argentines used.
