Sergeant Major, Royal Horse Artillery, 1893 (c)

Mounted in full dress, the Sergeant Major sits on a service pattern saddle with a lambs wool covering. His sword is fixed to a horse shoe case on the left hand side of his saddle. On the outside of the horseshoe case is a small steel folding hoof pick. A metal tethering chain, for use in camp is looped around the horse's neck.
