Photographic print taken by W Gregory and Company, 51 The Strand, London, 1895 (c).
Equestrian portrait of an officer of the 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers), 1895 (c).
The officer (probably a lieutenant) in this image wears a blue field service frock with cuffs of white facing colour. His blue pantaloons have a double white stripe down the outside seams, and are worn over black riding boots with spurs attached. The leather pouch belt has gold lace on top, and on the pouch is a silver rectangle with Queen Victoria's cypher. This sits partly underneath his metal shoulder chains.
He wears a field service cap which has a white body with a blue peak and flaps edged with gold braid. The regimental badge (a silver crown above garter, with crossed Carbines behind) can be seen on the left side of the cap. His sword and sabretache hand from the slings of his white leather sword belt. The black leather sabretache has regimental insignia on it.
The horse has standard military tack, and various accoutrements such as a horseshoe case and his valise and wallets can be seen, as well as the lance bucket.
