Stove, 1890 (c)
Cast iron 'Arctic' stove, 1890 (c).
Cylindrical, plain body with a stepped base upon three feet; the top has a central hole and a heavy, removable cap; a socket for a chimney; a hinged section opens for the insertion of coal; at the bottom is a door which allows for the raking-out of ash from the stove.
Cast iron stoves like this one were used to heat barrack rooms for over 100 years.
