Mark I tank C19 'Clan Leslie', 1916
Lantern slide, World War One (1914-1918), 1917.
'Clan Leslie' in Chimpanzee Valley during the Battle of Flers Courcelette, September 1916. 'Clan Leslie' was commanded by Captain Archibald (Bruce) Holford-Walker but missed the Flers Courcelette operation on the Somme due to a damaged tail assembly. The tank is camouflaged and is fitted with mesh screens to deflect grenades.
