Arrival of Germans in Ghent, 1914

Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1914.

The German Army occupied the Belgian city of Ghent on 12 October 1914 following its evacuation by Allied forces. The latter included the British 7th Division. Ghent remained in German hands until reoccupied by the Belgians on 10 November 1918.
