Soldiers outside the divisional baths on the Arras road near St. Pol, February 1917

Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1917.

When soldiers left the front lines and moved to the rear they regularly visited bath houses to wash. Usually this occurred every three weeks or so. They were also deloused when out of the line.
