'Welcome Coffee', a coffee break, November 1916

Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1916.

Canadian soldiers, several of whom are wearing trench waders, enjoy a coffee during a break from their duties on the Somme front. The Canadian Corps, consisting of four divisions, sustained around 24,000 casualties during the Somme battles.
