Church Army Camp Hall, Rouen, 31 October 1917

Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1917.

The Church Army was an evangelical Christian organisation that ran cafes and social clubs for soldiers behind the lines. Other religious bodies that ran recreational facilities for soldiers in France and Belgium included the Young Men's Christian Association, Salvation Army and the Catholic League.
