Late East India Company Pattern .75 in flintlock musket, 1838 (c)
Although experiments had been conducted for several years with the percussion system of ignition, the British Infantry were still issued with flintlock muskets until the early 1840s. This India Pattern musket, probably produced for use in the Colonies, was of a pattern that had remained fundamentally unchanged for over a century.
