A captured Italian CV-33 tankette, 1941

The Carro Veloce CV-33 carried a two-man crew protected by 12 mm of armour and was armed with a single 6.5 mm machine gun. It was used by Italian forces during the war in Abyssinia, North Africa, Italy and the Balkans. Tankettes were mainly used for light infantry support or reconnaissance work.
From 125 photographs collected by Lieutenant General Sir Reginald Savory during his career in the Indian Army, 1939-1948.
