Barracks, Scutari, 1854

Scutari was situated opposite Constantinople on the Bosphorus coast of Turkey. The Selimiye Barracks at Scutari, and the surrounding area, was initially used by the British Army as a camp for troops en route to the Crimea, but it was soon converted into a temporary military hospital.
