Bronze medal commemorating the Battle of Sheriffmuir, 1715

This medal is inscribed 'The avenger of perjury. At Dunblane, 13 Nov. 1715'. The Jacobite general, the Earl of Mar, had formerly professed allegiance to King George II and his defeat is here seen as the just punishment of perjury.
