Cap badge, other ranks, The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, 1960-1968

Badge by J R Gaunt of London, in the form of a flaming grenade. Within a circlet bearing the regimental motto, 'Quo Fata Vocant', (Whither the Fates Call), the figures of St George and the dragon. The reverse bears and anodised metal slider fitting.

The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers were originally raised in 1674 as the 5th Regiment of Foot. The unit received its regional designation in 1782 and became a fusilier unit in 1836. This badge dates from just before its amalgamation with other Fusilier Regiments in 1968 to form the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
