Drum Major's sash, 30th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry (3rd Belooch Battalion), 1890 (c)
The regiment was originally raised by Brigadier-General John Jacob in 1858 for service during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) and was known as the 1st Regiment, Jacob's Rifles. In July 1890 the regiment was under orders to move 250 kilometres north to Quetta in Baluchistan from Hyderabad and Jacobabad in northern Sind.
