Pattern 1796 flintlock pistol for heavy dragoons, variation with ramrod pipe and Ordnance pattern lock, 1800 (c)
As well as new pattern carbines, the heavy dragoons received new pattern pistols. The pistols were the same calibre as the carbine, enabling carbine cartridges to be used in them after shaking out some of the powder.
