Cavalry carbine, 1689-1702 (c)

Dragoons were mounted infantry who used horses to move quickly around the battlefield. They were organised and equipped in such a way that they could fight on foot or on horseback with carbines and swords. A carbine is a scaled down musket, easier to use on horseback, but with greater range than a pistol.
