Scabbard for No 4 Mk 2 bayonet, 1943 (c)
Made by Victory Plastics, USA.
The No 4 Mk 2 spike bayonet was nicknamed the 'pigsticker' by soldiers. It was designed for attachment to the Lee Enfield No 4 Rifle, simplified from the earlier Mark 1 bayonet to allow for easier mass production during World War Two (1939-1945).
The photograph also shows the webbing frog used to attach it to a belt.
