Trooping the Colour, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Punjab Regiment, Karachi, 9 October 1929
Photograph by I Sequeira, Karachi, 1929.
The spirit of a regiment was embodied in its Colours: trooping or marching the Colours through the regiment reinforced the loyalty of its soldiers, both to the regiment itself and through it to the sovereign whom they served. This was the first occasion on which the Colours of the 3rd Battalion had been trooped since 1890.
From an album of 70 photographs compiled by T S Whitworth.
