Theodolite, 1914

Metal theodolite with wooden stand, manufactured by Troughton and Simms Siemens Brothers, 1914. Stamped 'Angle of sight Instrument Mk II 1914'.

This surveying instrument was used to measure horizontal and vertical angles. Mounted on a tripod, it would have been used to map the landscape, and in building and road construction
