A new recruit on the firing range, 1943 (c)

A volunteer begins his training in the use of the Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle (SMLE), the standard infantry weapon of the Indian Army. The 5th Mahratta Light Infantry's training establishment was at Belgaum.
