'Don't Waver, Help Wavell, End War Week', National Savings Committee poster, 1940
Published by The National Savings Committee, London and The Scottish Savings Committee, Edinburgh and the Ulster Savings Committee, Belfast, 1940 (c).
The National Savings Committee helped finance the war effort by selling bonds to small investors. To encourage people to buy them 'Local savings weeks' were held which were promoted with posters like this one that shows Vickers medium tanks attacking. It also references General Archibald Wavell, Commander-in-Chief Middle East, who was then engaging the Italians in North Africa.
