'1 The Royal Scots', 1930 (c)

Piper and a corporal of the Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) and the insignia of the unit, with the text, 'There are Vacancies for Smart Young Men in the First & Royal Regiment of Foot'. On either side of the figures are scrolls with battle honours of then regiment.

This Scottish infantry regiment was raised in 1633, making it the oldest in British Army history. After 373 years of distinguished service, it was amalgamated into The Royal Regiment of Scotland in 2006.
