Horse muzzle, 1914 (c)
Horses that work in teams need to tolerate their colleagues. 'Biters' could be muzzled to stop them nipping fellow horses. Horses that repeatedly bit soldiers, however, were usually disposed of. This muzzle is made of thick brown leather and was used by the Royal Horse Artillery.
