Captain William Henry Ralston, 47th Sikhs, 1911

Captain (later Lieutenant-Colonel) William Henry Ralston was born 27 March 1883. He joined the Indian Army in 1903 and served with the 47th Sikhs and the 11th Sikh Regiment. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and the Military Cross.

The Coronation of King George V and his wife Queen Mary took place on 22 June 1911 at Westminster Abbey. This was followed by the Delhi Coronation Durbar on 12 December 1911, which was attended by around 100,000 people.
