After embarking at Sousse in Tunisia, the 2nd Battalion landed in Sicily on 10 July as part of 152nd Infantry Brigade of the 51st (Highland) Division. Operation HUSKY, the invasion of Sicily, was one of the largest amphibious assaults of World War Two.
