Shooting medal, East Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps, 1875 (c)
The East Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps was raised on 17 July 1869 under the Bengal Command. Part of the Indian auxiliary forces, its headquarters was at Jamalpur, the location of the East Indian Railway's locomotive workshops and associated colony.
The reverse of the medal depicts two Martini-Henry rifles which were introduced into British service in 1871.
