2nd Battalion The Hampshire Regiment entraining for Orange River, 1900

The 2nd Battalion served with 14th Brigade, 7th Division, in South Africa and fought in several engagements, including the Battle of Paardeberg (1900) and Diamond Hill (1900).

From an album of 97 photographs, 1900. Lt Col H H C Dent, Royal Army Medical Corps, probably served as a civil surgeon at No 3 Stationery Hospital in De Aar.
