Chamber pot, 1850 (c)
Pewter with a rounded bottom, straight sides and a flared foot; lip around the rim is incised with linear decoration and bears two rounded flat handles; one handle engraved, 'BO [broad arrow]'.
Chamber pots were mobile toilets, commonly kept under the bed for use at night before indoor toilets were common. This military issue example seems to have been used by many soldiers over time.
