Shako plate, other ranks, 1st Royal Garrison Battalion, 1803 (c)

This unit was raised at Chatham in July 1803. After service on Jersey and at Portsmouth it was eventually disbanded at Cork in December 1814. The motto of the 1st Royal Garrison Battalion was 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' (Shame on Him Who Thinks This Evil).
