Webley-Pryse .455 inch revolver, double action, 1882

Made by Wilkinson, this rare pistol belonged to Lieutenant James Parry of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, and is based on a Charles Pryse patent of 15 November 1876. Jones-Parry was gazetted in 1887, and was captain and adjutant to the 2nd Volunteer Battalion in 1896. He went on to serve with the mounted infantry in South Africa during the Boer War (1899-1902).
