Officers' beret worn by Lieutenant-Colonel H G S Burkitt, 17th Dogra Regiment, 1946 (c)

By the end of World War Two (1939-1945) the ubiquitous beret had replaced the traditional pugri for all officers and other ranks of the 17th Dogra Regiment.
