Shorts, officer, 1950 (c)
Jungle green shorts associated with General Sir Joseph David Frederick Mostyn (1928-2007), Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
In 1949, having attended the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, Mostyn was commissioned into the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Mostyn served in Brunei with the 1st Green Jackets (43rd and 52nd) and commanded 2nd Battalion The Royal Green Jackets in Germany and Northern Ireland. Mostyn commanded the 8th Infantry Brigade in the 1970s and became Commandant of the British Sector in Berlin in 1980. After serving as Military Secretary and Adjutant General in the 1980s he retired from the Army in 1989. Mostyn was a Commander of the Order of the British Empire and Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath. He died 20 January 2007.
