Infantry hanger sword marked to the 15th (Yorkshire East Riding) Regiment,1790 (c)
This style of weapon was issued to all infantry privates until 1768, when swords were abolished for Other Ranks. This example is unusual because it is marked to a line regiment, the majority of infantry swords were later reissued and marked to militia units.
