Gas mask carrier, United States Army, 1944 (c)
Although poison gas was not used during World War Two (1939-1945), respirators were issued to all Allied troops. The Germans had large stockpiles of nerve gas but never used them, believing that the Allies had also developed nerve agents and would respond in kind to their use.
From a collection of equipment and uniform items associated with a fifth grade technician of the 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, United States Army.
