Askaris cutting a young male Kongoni into joints, 1956
Photograph by Lieutenant Roger Perkins, 4th (Uganda) Battalion King's African Rifles, 1956.
Soldiers of the 4th (Uganda) Battalion, King's African Rifles, prepare to skin and cook an antelope they have caught. Freshly caught bush meat was no doubt a welcome addition to the standard Army rations of the time.
