Cap badge, other ranks, Queen's Royal Irish Hussars, 1958 (c)

Cap badge with the Angel Harp of the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars surmounted by crown and lion, on a circlet bearing the unit title 'Queen's Royal Irish Hussars', with a scroll below, bearing the regimental motto, 'Mente et Manu' (With Mind and Hand); with brass backing plate.

This regiment was formed by amalgamating the 4th Hussars and 8th Hussars on 24 October 1958 - the day before the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade (1854), in which both these regiments participated.
