Driver Job Henry Charles Drain, 37th Battery, Royal Field Artillery, won the Victoria Cross at Le Cateau on 26 August 1914. He was involved in recapturing a gun under heavy fire from German forces. Captain Douglas Reynolds and Driver Frederick Luke were also awarded the Victoria Cross for the action.
