Cap badge worn by Private Edward Astley, The King's Shropshire Light Infantry, 1903 (c)
Like other British light infantry units, the King's Shropshire Light Infantry adopted the stringed bugle horn as its badge. Traditionally, the quick marching light infantry regiments used these instruments instead of carrying cumbersome drums.
