The Royal Navy's contribution to the United Nations naval task force in Korea included HMS 'Triumph', HMS 'Theseus' and HMS 'Glory', light fleet carriers equipped with Sea Fury, Sea Fire and Firefly aircraft. During the war, British carrier aircraft dropped 15,200 bombs of various sizes and fired 57,600 rockets and 3,300,000 rounds of 20 mm cannon ammunition in around 23,000 operational sorties.
Second-Lieutenant Lock was killed in action in Korea on 29 November 1950.
