Troops from 1st Battalion, The Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own), on the march, 1950 (c)

From August 1950 to April 1951, the 1st Battalion saw action in the Korean War (1950-1953) as part of 27th British Commonwealth Brigade, being one of the first British units to be deployed there alongside the 1st Battalion The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's).

From an album of 195 photographs. 40 to 50 were taken by Second Lieutenant J M Lock, 1st Bn Middlesex Regiment, Korea 1950, before he was killed in action on 29 November 1950; many of the remainder were added by Lieutenant (later Major) Geoffrey Norton.
