Photograph by Gale and Polden, Aldershot, 1930-1933.
This group comprises all of the officers and non-commissioned officers of one of the squadrons of the 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, which would have been commanded by a Major. All of the men in this group wear World War One (1914-1918) campaign medals - testament to their long service. Although the regiment was still horsed, by 1938 it had been mechanised and the horses retired. The regiment were based in Warburg Barracks for three years before moving to Colchester.
