Broken Army issue fob watch belonging to Sergeant Roy Bishop, The Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge's Own), 1944 (c)

Manufactured by the Swiss watch company, Helvetia.

During an action at Montchamp, Calvados, France, on the 8th August 1944, Sergeant Roy Bishop's life was saved when a piece of shrapnel penetrated his platoon book and wallet and smashed his Army issue fob watch in the breast pocket of his shirt.
