Winchester .30 inch magazine Model 1917 bolt action rifle, 1918
n American modified version of the Pattern 1914 Enfield Number 3 rifle produced during the latter stages of World War One (1914-1918). The weapon was purchased in very large numbers by the British Purchasing Commission in 1940, primarily for use by the Home Guard. The red band on the forestock was added to denote the calibre of the weapon, .30 inch rather than the standard .303 inch.
