Glengarry badge, other ranks, 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot, 1874-1881
This badge consists of a laurel wreath topped with a crown. In the centre is the number 37, and along the bottom a scroll bearing the words 'North Hampshire'.
The regiment was raised in Ireland in 1702 and in 1751 was given the numeral 37 in the infantry order of precedence. In 1782, it was given its county designation of North Hampshire.
