'A Girl who wants to be an Army Officer faces a lot of Opposition. Much of it from Us', 1980 (c)
Recruiting poster, relief halftone, published by the Women's Royal Army Corps (WRAC), 1980 (c).
This poster acknowledges that in 1980s British society, the Army might not be seen as a place for women. It presents a career as a WRAC officer as a viable option for women, with a rigourous interview and training process and the opportunity to earn qualifications.
WRAC Officer training took place at the separate WRAC College at Camberley. The integration of women at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst did not take place until 1984.
